From the reviews
Excellent tide pool exploration for both adults and kids. We saw many great creatures and watched the tide come in against the rocks. Make sure to check the tide charts ahead of time to arrive at low tide. I recommend sturdy boots (rainboots or hiking boots) as the rocks are very slippery.
Took a group of 3rd graders to Agate Beach to explore the tidepools, and it was such a cool experience! We spotted crabs, anemones, and even a few starfish - so fun watching the kids get excited seeing everything up close. The beach is beautiful and easy to access, especially at low tide.
Wow what a day. The views. The drive was wonderful. The walk to the water was well worth it . Great place. Fish and Game lady was on it. Lol. Nice to see .
Bolinas offers some amazing tidepools and acess to sea life through this quite beach.
Getting married at Agate Beach County Park
Agate Beach County Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
