From the reviews
This was the perfect location to view "Totality" 2024! Review is limited as we were visiting during off season. However, we appreciated that the park was made available to those of us looking for good visibility sites for the day.
Alburgh Dunes was such a great spot for a beach day! The sand is soft, the water is inviting, and we lucked out with gorgeous weather. Facilities were easy to use and the staff was super friendly, which made the whole visit feel extra welcoming. Definitely worth a trip if you’re looking for a laid-back day by the lake.
Alburgh Dunes is actually a BARRIER beach right along lake Champlain! Dunes, Bogs and Beach. A nice hiking trail too! Plenty of birds, and native plants/ flowers.
Possibly the most beautiful beach on Lake Champlain. The sand is nice, the water is clear and shallow and it's not too big or busy. A great place to bring kids.
Getting married at Alburgh Dunes State Park
Alburgh Dunes State Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
