They were the venue for our granddaughter's wedding. The staff were ALL extremely helpful, happy, and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Although I enjoyed my stay very much. Great beach and there seemed to be lots of activities offered for families traveling with kids. I would recommend vacationing here, but at least the cabin we stayed in was very bare bones.
Nicest resort I've ever stayed at. Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean cabins beautiful beach and lots of activity for children and adults. Will be going back 💯 my New go to spot for a getaway
We stayed here in late sept/early oct during mid week to the weekend. We learned about this place by happenstance and are glad we did. It was a great time. We stayed in cabin 5, right off of the beach.
Getting married at Appeldoorn's Sunset Bay Resort - Lake Mille Lacs Lodging
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
