From the reviews
This park is great! Great for fishing or a family outing near the water. The road is a narrow two lane in and out. Parking is ample, and for a family with five kids the walk to the beach is not bad. The sand does have alot of spiders so make sure you shake your stuff out before you get back in the car to go home.
For what I have seen masquerading as beaches in this area (throwing MAJOR shade at Colonial Beach!) this is nice! There is A BEACH! People are swimming (there are no swimming signs posted but I wont be judging), fishing, there is a park, people just chillin....and it RIGHT HERE! And not crowded!
Found this current experience just as rewarding, as my two previous experiences. Quiet reflection along the water, observing the nature, birding, and scenic views. Location has restrooms, picnic areas, and historical markers.
Amazing little local Paradise! Family and Pet friendly! Has a bathroom, Gazebos and grills. You can also bring your own grill and tents onto the sand. Has fishing areas and just a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere with amazing view.
Getting married at Aquia Landing Park
Aquia Landing Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
