It is an excellent and quiet place to stay. The breakfasts are gourmet and individually prepared. There are various style rooms with one being equipped for handicapped, another with its own sun porch, and one cottage. Make reservations well ahead as they fill up quickly particularly on Fall weekends.
We went to Solomon's Island, MD for the Lighted Boat Parade and to visit friends. We stayed in the very convenient, Back Creek Inn. We cannot wait to go back. The "Lavender Room" was a cottage with a king bed, sun porch, gas fireplace, and waterfall shower. Except that we had people to meet, we didn't want to leave.
Absolutely loved our stay @ Back Creek Inn! Fantastic location that is private and peaceful, but also walkable to great restaurants & shops. Relaxed with coffee in the mornings on the screened patio, and ended the evenings with a wonderful fire pit. 5 ⭐ experience and stay!
We love Back Creek Inn! This is our fourth annual visit to celebrate our anniversary. We have booked the private Lavender cottage every time and appreciate the solitude. Perfect location to easily walk to the boardwalk, restaurants, shops, and Calvert Marine Museum.
Getting married at Back Creek Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
