From the reviews
We recently got married at the bonnet house and it was a dream. The property and house are gorgeous. It's hard to believe you are in the middle of downtown Fort Lauderdale. The planning process was made easy thanks to the hard working staff who helped us (i.e, Susanne and Debbie).
We absolutely loved our experience getting married at the Bonnet House. Susanne was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, and the venue itself is absolutely stunning.
The Home is 1920s..interesting history. Original and eclectic artwork and furnishings. The outside gardens are beautiful and well maintained. They have plenty of clean restrooms around the property. There is a docent in every room to explain the decor. Friendly and knowledgeable. Free parking in unpaved lot.
Bonnet House Museum & Gardens has a soul. It’s tucked away right near Las Olas Beach, but the second you step inside, the Florida noise just… disappears. It was the "casual" winter home of the original owners, and you can really feel that.
Getting married at Bonnet House Museum & Gardens
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
