It's got all the key things but in a small setting, which I love. So, a nice sandy beach, pool, hot tub, dock, pickleball courts and a common room with a TV and ping pong.
Very impressed with Darnells facilities. Gorgeous green grounds with lots of areas to play. Multiple tennis/pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, a good sized pool, these awesome floating docks that have built in chairs, a cabana restaurant.... so much fun stuff!
Great location, very clean have absolutely quiet during the off-season, like we were there before memorial weekend in May. but they keep the hot tub only at 94°. not warm enough for being outside! And the hot water in the shower takes about 10 minutes to come up to temperature.
Our family has stayed at Darnell's every summer for the last 15 years. It is in our eyes the best place to stay in Chelan. The resort is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a complete family friendly resort not like some places in Chelan that are hangouts with disrespectful quests.
Getting married at Darnells Lake Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
