I've been here many times to play for events. The facilities are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The views are incredible. The catering is excellent--everything is delicious. It's rare as a vendor (musician) to be treated so well at such a beautiful venue.
Had a great time at the Detroit Yacht Club during the Detroit City Football League’s after party hosted by the Villages team. Great pool and outdoor bar and a really nice place to hang out during the summer time. The Club is on Belle Isle and is members-only.
I've been here several times as a guest and always enjoyed it and loved all the tradition this organization has. Everyone is friendly and the entertainment is always top notch. I love Detroit and the beautiful waterfront views.
Getting married at Detroit Yacht Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
