We've previously only come at night. Today was transformative. We had tickets to the EVERYTHING EVERYONE ALL AT ONCE FEST. That was a nice event with many food and craft vendors, plus quite varied musical entertainment from multiple bands. Soul, R&B to 2nd Line New Orleans.
Very diverse choices for food and entertainment. Amazing views of the city and wharf. Wonderful event space. Parking is a bit pricey.
The Wharf is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC. We were here on a Saturday morning and there was a Farmers Market. Great time for some fresh fruits, veggies and other food for home. From here we walked down the wharf to see the sights.
One of DC's best kept secrets. Both a relaxing and energetic place all at once depending on your exact location at any given time. Lined with shops and restaurants throughout the entire promenade.. Seasonally decorated. I love the fireplace around fall and winter.
Getting married at District Pier at The Wharf
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
