10/10 RECOMMEND!!!! We got married at Elk Cove Inn, and it was the most amazing weekend. Melissa and her husband out did themselves. This place is built on love and you can feel it!!! The food was out of this world! Everything was delicious and big portions. Our whole family has raved about the food.
Just down the hill from the minuscule town of Elk (just south of Mendocino) lies the boutique B&B of Elk Cove Inn. The dozen+ beach cottages are rustic, cozy, private, with sublime views of Elk Cove, a typical NorCal beach with a gigantic rock splashed with waves.
We love this place and return there again and again. The location is fantastic, both the inn and the quiet, beautiful beach it overlooks. Dinners at Elk Cove Inn are consistently delicious. Victor is a marvelous chef.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Elk Cove Inn and Spa, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Our oceanfront room offered a stunning view that we never tired of — we spent hours in those two chairs just taking it all in. It was the ideal setting to relax, reflect, and enjoy time together.
Getting married at Elk Cove Inn & Spa
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
