I love The Ester Lee! Beautiful views and comfortable rooms. Love that it is pet friendly and has a fireplace in the room as well. The only thing I wish could be better is the door lock to the room… It only has a door knob lock with no interior deadbolt or chain lock for security.
We love staying at this little gem of a motel. My wife and I come here often during the off-season, and it feels like our home away from home. The ocean views are beautiful and never get old. There’s something peaceful about seeing the water right outside your window.
Beautiful views older but clean rooms. It started off in the 1920s as a cabin and has had several stages of growth in the 1940s and again in the 1970s. I checked in byOnawa who was so nice. I’m 65 and she had a downstairs room and offered it to me so I would not have to climb a bunch of stairs.
The Ester Lee is not a luxury hotel, and it's not priced like it is one—some of the appliances are old, as well as some furnishings. So if brand new and modern is important to you, this isn't your place! That said, it's incredibly clean, and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The views are outstanding!
Getting married at Ester Lee Oceanview Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
