Renee and Mark are top notch! The Fort can be made to be beautiful. Having said this as a sound guy it is the most challenging place in Mobile to get a good sound in that room with a band. This is a venue where less is more... You don't have to have a giant rig to fill this place up with sound!
Our famiy celebrated our Aunt's 90th year birthday there and the venue was just what we needed to do this. Beautiful simply beautiful.
participated in a job fair here. not a big turnout for the event, and driving there was a little out of the way, but it was pretty inside and out. plus disco ball
Attended a charity event at this venue for Ronald McDonald House. Had a great time. Very nice venue near the Mobile Downtown Airport.
Getting married at Fort Whiting Reception Hall
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
