Fort Worden State Park is a fantastic place that truly has it all. It’s a perfect spot for anyone whether you're a history buff, an outdoor enthusiast, or just looking for a great family outing with amazing wildlife. What really stands out is the history.

Our group rented the keepers house near the lighthouse before night. The scenery was stunning. It was a once in a lifetime event. The views from the 2 story keepers house were amazing, the views from the one story house (made of cinder blocks painted white) weren’t as great.

Played in the bunkers with daughter and her friend . We brought flashlights and went thru all the dark corridors. It was real fun. Watch out for low door frames I hit my head pretty hard but no damage to the bunker. Great park great adventures great beach love the marine center. Would recommend.

Wow, there is so much to see and do at Fort Worden Historical State Park! I parked outside the park and spent the day hiking through it, and I still feel like there was more to explore. The park has something for everyone, beautiful beaches, hiking trails, historic sites, camping, and great views.

Getting married at Fort Worden Historical State Park

Fort Worden Historical State Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
