Came here for a sports event. It's located right across from the beach, multiple hotels nearby for lodging, Starbucks at Kroger next door. There's one big exhibit hall with many smaller conference rooms. Overall decent venue.
Really great convention center! Went here for 2023 Western National Championships (gymnastics meet) . It was really great! Place very organized, nice elevators, great ballrooms, FREE parking deck underground, and very well laid out and convenient! We highly recommend checking this place out or hold an event here!
I went here to OniCon 2019 and it was super fun this year! The staff was really nice and I was so happy they expanded the artist alley. Oni Con was the first con I've ever been to so it's very nostalgic when I do get to visit. It's right next to the beach, just a walk down the street!
Besides the old decor, this is a very nice place for meetings, business, (etc.). I came here for a school event and it did not disappoint. With it's high ceiling, multiple pianos, balcony, huge windows, and a big parking area underneath the building, you'll get everything you need out of this place.
Getting married at Galveston Island Convention Center at The San Luis Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
