From the reviews
Grand Bay San Francisco is the best hidden gem hotel in California — peaceful, beautiful, surprisingly affordable, and truly special. For the Bay Area, it is almost unbelievable to find a hotel this nice at such a reasonable price.
Not sure why some recent reviews mentioned so many issues but I was pleasantly surprised by this Hotel. I'm an airline pilot and I've stayed at a lot of places, and yes I do avoid some of the fees and charges for extras, but my room was very nice. Seemed to have been recently refreshed.
It only doesn't have a 5 star because of the location, but the the hotel and service are amazing. Comfortable beds, pretty areas in the hotel including the pool. I just like to have access to diverse restaurants in short stays . But that's a choice.
Getting married at Grand Bay Hotel San Francisco
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
