What a beautiful venue. Attended my friend's wedding here last weekend and it was great. The staff was amazing and the decor was classic and beautiful. She even told me while she was booking the venue that everyone was so helpful. The patio was a nice touch. She had an outdoor bar and seating area.
I recently had my wedding here. The venue has a beautiful view of the Ravenel Bridge with the site located right beside the water. The day of my wedding the weather was perfect. The ceremony was on the lawn and my guests have commented on how beautiful everything was.
Stunning venue and well worth every penny. It was cold and rainy on our wedding day but we weren't bothered in the least since there was a cover over the patio for our ceremony. Chelsea was GREAT to work with, always quick to respond. Beautiful view and awesome facility!
As a full-time professional photographer event photographer in Charleston, I work in a LOT of different venues. Harborside East has a really interesting blend of a modern exterior with lots of glass and metal, and a rustic interior with its beautiful wood finish and eclectic chandeliers.
Getting married at Harborside East I Charleston
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
