From the reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hotel San Buena! It was my first time to Ventura and I was excited that the hotel is so centrally located. The beach and so many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores are within walking distance. I barely had to use my car.
Stunning hotel in a fantastic location close to downtown and the beach! I stayed there for an event and definitely will return. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The outdoor spaces are equally cozy and beautiful. There are fascinating, historical touches throughout the hotel.
This hotel is truly incredible, with impressive attention to detail! The location is fantastic—just a one-minute walk to downtown and only ten minutes walk from the pier. The complimentary snacks were absolutely delicious! Miranda, the manager, and her team are incredibly attentive and caring.
As a wedding photographer specializing in documentary-style and candid photography, Hotel San Buena is an absolute treasure. The venue perfectly blends historic charm with thoughtful modern upgrades. For those of us shooting both digital and film, the lighting and textures here are incredible.
Getting married at Hotel San Buena
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
