My husband and I hosted family and friends for our wedding at IslandWood, and consider ourselves so lucky to have had the wedding of our dreams there. Some reflections and thoughts for couples considering this venue: 1.
We attended a wedding on the weekend of September 19. What an amazing experience. The setting was spectacular. Love the Forest setting. We took a guided forest tour that took us to some real cool tree houses. The staff was amazing. My wife has mobilty issues and the staff took us where we needed to go via Golf carts.
Amazing property & the staff is such a pleasure to work with!!! All staff is so friendly and so helpful!!! I can’t say enough good things about the staff - they’re amazing!! Food is excellent and they are so accommodating of diets and allergies! Just ask!!! And all the desserts are phenomenal!
We discovered this distinctive venue on Bainbridge Island, offering a Dine and Discover event that just so happened to align with our anniversary. The experience unfolded with about a 3.5-mile walk through the woods, complemented by Hors d'oeuvres, music, and wine, culminating in a delightful meal.
Getting married at IslandWood
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
