Our recent stay at Joy by the Sea was nothing short of amazing. We traveled to New Smyrna for our sons wedding having never been to that area of Florida before. Our accommodations included The villas and Beach House. We were greeted by staff upon our arrival and given the full tour of our accommodations.
Breathtaking Beach House and a Perfect Location for a Beautiful Beach Wedding! We had our wedding here and we were able to book the beach house and blocked dates for our guests that wanted to stay at the villas. You met every expectation and made our wedding perfect!
We recently booked a short stay at this property and I wish we had more time here! It’s immensely charming, a perfect location, and well maintained with obvious pride. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating as we juggled some minor changes in our itinerary.
Without a doubt, staying at Joy by the Sea is a complete and total joy! We gathered our family of 23 from TN, CO, KY, OH and FL to celebrate 4 graduations and an anniversary, and this amazing resort was more than we could have ever expected!

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
