We attended a wedding onsite and it was a perfect venue. The backdrop of the lake and plenty of room for guests to roam around.
What I can express in words of this place would be too little, too simple, to begin to describe the experience. I shall try. The location is one of the most pleasant I have had the gift of experiencing. The beauty of the vista over Lake Michigan cannot help but inspire awe.
We chose this venue for our wedding solely for the amazing view being right on Lake Michigan. We loved that we could have our friends and bridal party stay right on the property and we had full access from Friday morning through Sunday, which was so helpful in the set up/take down process.
My husband and I had our renewal of vows/ wedding reception here. Nate and his staff were wonderful! Very helpful but also out of the way. It was impressive the amount of work they were able to accomplish behind the scenes. We received so many compliments on the venue.
Getting married at Lake Orchard Farm Retreat
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
