From the reviews
Wanting to escape Chicago for a few days to unwind on a solo vacation, Saugatuck was the perfect destination. I had heard great things about Lake Shore Resort, and it certainly did not disappoint.
If I could give them 10 stars, I would. No photo I took of the sunset could do this place justice. This is a gem, tucked on the side of Lake Michigan. This was a splurge for my husband and I, and it was worth every penny-- which means a lot coming from some vegetable farmers.
The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable stay - some of the nicest people I’ve ever encountered. Meticulous interior details and landscaping, extremely well maintained classic architecture, beautiful pool, very quiet and relaxing. Not a single detail has been missed.
We had a great time at Lake Shore Resort! This was our first time visiting western MI, and we could not have picked a better spot. The ambiance of the property was relaxed and chill...we loved the areas where you could sit in the lounge chairs in the sun or shade, and soak in the views of the lake.
Getting married at Lake Shore Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
