Nice local public park & Lake Erie Sand Beach in Lorain Ohio. Very clean & well kept. They also have a nice rose garden which was still somewhat in bloom when we were there in September. The park also allows dogs on a leash.
What a great park! I ventured out to explore some new areas and came across Lakeview Park. It was more than a park. Had a great beach, restaurant on site was good. The service there was extremely friendly. Enjoyed the Rose Garden the fountain, and the recycling fish.
This is one of my favorite places in Lorain County. The beach is always clean and quiet. I love taking my kids to swim and the beach playground is an amazing bonus. I'm thrilled to hear that there is funding to upgrade it as it's a bit worn down (to be expected as it's on a beach). I love the rose garden.
Getting married at Lakeview Park
Lakeview Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
