Mallards and Chef Johnny Mo were incredible. We went for our 18th anniversary and I had emailed ahead and asked for a special request that meant the world to my wife and the Chef absolutely delivered creating a custom appetizer for us and then delivering a 4 course meal for two that was amazing.
The location is perfect, Mallards is inside a beautiful old historic building; the interior was nice and cozy and you could see outside towards the wharf. The service was attentive and friendly, giving great recommendations!
Gorgeous day, and we had the best view! Delicious homemade fish soup and the muscles were perfect in white wine & garlic butter. I wish the crab rolls had had more crab in them (I'm from Maryland:), but they were still delicious! Dining in an 1842 mercantile (later a bank) adds some nostalgia! Casual attire❤️
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service! Came here for a business lunch and I had an great experience. I sat inside but the wharf view was gorgeous. Highly recommend.
Getting married at Mallards At the Wharf
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
