A wonderful evening for our last day on Maui at Merriman's! We had the best time here. We arrived about an hour before our reservation to enjoy Mai Tais at the point (we ordered at the bar and stood by the bar tables enjoying the view) and it was lovely! The Merriman Mai Tais are the best on the island.
We dined here and we fell in love with the place at the same time! What an experience it was to eat at this restaurant! Between the views and the food it was something spectacular! Our server was fantastic! He was a very nice guy from France!
First, the location is picturesque. Views all around. Second, the chef and founder Peter Merriman has kept to his roots with farm and sea to table selections. Done perfectly to capture the best of their flavors.
We snagged a last-minute reservation to grab seats at the bar. It ended up being our favorite meal on Maui by far! My husband ordered the chef’s special, and I had the filet—both were absolutely incredible and cooked perfectly.
Getting married at Merriman's Kapalua
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
