Stumbled across this place while the area. My wife and I stopped in for a tasting and was impressed with the quality of their wines, especially the Chambourcin and Cab Sav. The tasting room is still under construction, and looks to be very nice once completed. They have outside seating with a view of Monroe Creek.
This is a nice but very basic winery. In general everything they do here is only aged and stainless steel. Although they do make an exception for a couple reds that have a very short oak barrel aging process. They do have a pretty nice venue made out of straw bales which is kind of unique in itself.
Stopped by this newer winery on way to the Colonial Beach area. They need to make some tweaks by having some tasting notes available and reorganize thier wine lists in order of dry to off-dry/sweet. Was great to learn about the sustainable building and the plans for the future of the venue.

Getting married at Monroe Bay Winery & Wedding Venue
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
