We've stayed here half a dozen times in the last several years, and have always enjoyed it. The homes are all modern and well equipped, with fun beach themes. The village center has a restaurant, bar, market, ice cream shop, and a new event venue.
Great place to stay. The Sanctuary has a great location. Close to restaurants but quiet. Wildlife refuge is directly in front on house and a few minute walk to beach.
What a great place to vacation. We were fortunate to have the very best weather we could have asked for during our recent stay at Oyhut Bay Village. This was our second time there and we stayed in #72, the Blue Ocean Bungalow. It was perfect for our family and has a nice, private hot tub.
We came for a long weekend, and loved it so much we bought our own cottage and couldn't be more thrilled! The Oyhut Bay Resort is so thoughtfully laid out, with an excellent restaurant, store, coffee shop, play area, outdoor games, fire pits, and a private nature reserve and beach.
Getting married at Oyhut Bay Seaside Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
