Had a wedding there. Friendly staff, great facility. Caterer complimented the kitchen. Not a big place, but it accommodated us nicely. Beautiful setting for an outdoor ceremony. Got my deposit back in about 3 weeks. Very satisfied.
Attended a wedding here, the guests faced the water at sunset....it was gorgeous. There were ducks and some geese in the water. The setting was nice. Lovely view. Older facility, the AC had trouble keeping up. Large kitchen, small rooms for wedding party to get ready in.
I had my wedding here and everything was perfect. Plus is way cheaper than any other place we found that wanted 10000 for a barn and nothing else. It has a kitchen, they have table and chairs for you and it over looks the Nansemond River. Great place for any party.

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
