From the reviews
A beautiful little spot and not crowded. Calm and shallow water with hermit crabs, egrets, and osprey as some of the local fauna you might catch a glimpse of. I didn't note if there are currently any amenities/facilities, but new 'things' are under construction.
Get there early, limited parking. Beach area is nice, soft sand. Park was devastated during the hurricane. Is open now for patrons. There is an addition to the park, a recreation center and pool. And yes there is fishing, floating docks, boat ramp. Only 4 stars, construction still pending but finishing soon.
The beach has been restored from the damage of Hurricane Milton. The new rec center and pool complex will be completed in the fall of 2026. There is a playground, basketball court and picnic tables dispersed under the trees. Peaceful.
Pier is top notch. Great shape. Easy access. Seating. Playground desperately needs shade. Ample restrooms! No soap Tennis court Basketball court Sand volleyball pit Large shaded picnic area. Pool closed on Sundays currently. Generous parking Beach area & beach box with toys for kids.
Getting married at Port Charlotte Beach Park
Port Charlotte Beach Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
