I just held my wedding reception at Neuse River Suites at the beginning of June 2013. OUr experience was amazing! Jackie and Jim went above and beyond to help us and make everything run smoothly. The location and grounds are beautiful and my guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful everything was.
Buddy booked a fishing trip and I was just along for the ride. Had never been to Oriental so I had no preconceived notions. This place is a GREAT PLACE TO STAY. I would come back here in a North Carolina minute. We were upstairs. When I entered I saw a nice sitting area but no beds. I was confused.
We bring our dog to Oriental with us and River Neuse Suites is perfect. They have pet friendly rooms on the first floor and the manager is a dog owner as well. The hotel is right in the river with plenty of seating to enjoy the view.
Had always been curious about visiting Oriental. So happy I chose to stay at River Neuse Suites! The water views and breezes are calm and relaxing. Pull up a chair on the front lawn or walk across the street to the park or pier. These suites are very clean and welcoming. Staff is super helpful, especially Lucky!
Getting married at River Neuse Suites
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
