Update 9/6/2023: Beach is great! Clean, safe and not overly crowded! We will continue to attend this beach regularly! Update 3/13/22: still a great clean beach! An abundance of hermit crabs this year for the kids to play with! We will continue coming to this great beach! Great beach to attend!
This is a very very nice place!! My husband and I are visiting Rockport on vacation from Austin. Our hotel is right across the bay which we can actually see from the window. It is a beautiful little beach. Everything was pretty peaceful and we enjoyed ourselves quite a lot. We went there several times during our stay.
We come here in the summer when ever we both have a weekend off. Just come with cash for some reason every time we come here their debt card machine is down $10 bucks per vehicle. Also it's pretty shallow water for about 100 feet from the beach. Great for small children who can't swim almost about maybe 3 feet deep.
Our first time visit to Rockport Beach was a pleasant experience. The $10 entry fee is worth every penny as the beach and the facilities are well maintained. The beach-goers at the beach are typically courteous and friendly. We plan to visit more often.
Getting married at Rockport Beach
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
