I’m from Indiana. I’ve stayed here numerous times when working in Portland (to get away from the chain hotels) as well as please visits. It’s a “Motel”… so don’t expect fragrance in the lobby… other than the amazing salt air. The staff is very helpful and kind.
I’ve been coming to this place for about 15 years. First with my mom, and now with my husband. Friendly staff, beautiful views, heated outdoor pool, clean grounds. The rooms are simple but adorable.
The employees are awesome and friendly and very helpful. The cleaning crew is top-notch. I would recommend the Royal Anchor Resort to anyone that enjoys not only the rooms but the ocean is right out back!!

Getting married at Royal Anchor Beach Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
