When deciding on a wedding venue we were looking for a perfect mix of having a weekend, lake getaway with our closest family and friends with the weekend culminating in our wedding on Sunday. Seneca Lake Resorts made this dream a reality. We were able to reserve cabins next to one another and nearby The Vista.
We have stayed in the cabins here twice. We love it. It's a beautiful, well maintained resort/park with ample amenities in walking distance making it perfect for families. Great playground and small but cute "beach". Pizza at the pizzeria was a steal but don't plan to sit indoors there on a hot day 🥵🔥.
I have stayed for a few years now and want to say how much fun the cabins bring to the beautiful Sampson State Park and SLR. The staff in the ship store, guest registration, grounds, and marina all were fabulous to interact with.
We spent a wonderful couple of days at Seneca Lake Resorts. The location is amazing — right by the lake, surrounded by nature. Our cabin was cozy and clean, and the staff were very kind and helpful. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge. Highly recommend!
Getting married at Seneca Lake Resorts
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
