I'm writing this having fished a lot off the Washington and Oregon coasts with guides. The fishing up there is the best I've ever experienced. The guides are experienced and work together to get you on the fish. That being said I am reluctant to say this.
Absolutely hands down the best lodge and location to go fishing in Alaska!!! While at Shelter Cove you will experience the best Alaska has to offer. Gorgeous lodge over looking the water and the best food I have had at any restaurant anywhere.
You can't beat the view from the deck of Shelter Cove Lodge or the memories you'll make on the deck of their fishing boats. The team here will welcome you like family and then show you the adventure of your life.
Experience of a lifetime! I was fortunate enough to accompany my husband and in-laws on their annual trip to Shelter Cove. The location is quaint and charming. The staff is top notch and very accommodating.
Getting married at Shelter Cove Alaska Fishing Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
