A gorgeous place to eat, relax or have an event. Tucked away at the end of Bald Head Island it provided a privacy for the wedding we attended that made it more intimate and special. The food and wait staff were excellent. The cake and dessert were just as excellent.
Only visited as part of a tour of the island, but the views and beach access are unparalleled. All interactions with staff were pleasant and friendly. Facilities seem very well maintained.
My family and I love Sandbar Grill. Miss Michelle and her crew make us feel welcome each time we dine there. Thanks for an enjoyable meal with a fabulous view.
I have been going there since last and I like it very much. The Staff are always very nice and helpful from the entrance, the bar, food service and poolside. There is also a separate, shallow Kid's pool. At different times I have seen bands and DJs there which wwere entertaining.
Getting married at Shoals Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
