From the reviews
A lovely day at a beautiful location! The grounds are so well kept and the views are spectacular! The Stars show at the planetarium was very enjoyable and informative. The Marine Museum had way more sea creatures and fish than we imagined.
This is one of the must see places when visiting Long Island, New York. A Vanderbilt Museum with plenty of wild life exhibits and much more. Spectacular views of the bay and gardens. This place is perfect for pictures and venues like weddings, anniversaries etc. The price for general admission is about $12.
This beautiful location offers a variety of interactive exhibits and stunning scenery. The site features several museums showcasing marine life, Native American history, and African culture. There's plenty of activities for both kids and adults. A lake sits in the backyard, adding to the charm.

Getting married at Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
