Superior Shores Resort has been even better than expected. We stayed in cottage 9 and were right on the water. They had kayaks and life jackets available for use, which was a wonderful surprise.
A fantastic find! It felt like staying at a family cabin, and also like a motel from the 40s/50s...in a good way! I loved the vintage property and decor. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Stayed at the beach house, it was great! Visited in early June so the weather was cooler (as expected off the big lake) black flies stuck but if You're from the Mitten you know there's no escaping them! House was what I expected, clean, a little muggy from lack of climate control, but had warm water to shower in!
My dad and I stayed here during a weekend ski trip to the Porkies. The cottage (#10) we stayed in was small but cosy. We had a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and a small upstairs with two queen beds.
Getting married at Superior Shores Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
