Man, what a great little gem! Our family had a ball. The place is like a cross between a fishing camp and a boutique hotel. There are two large kitchen/living room communal areas and then all these small rooms up and down the halls.
We loved our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there are lots of places to relax and enjoy the view. My favorite part is the character of the building! It is a refreshing change from the blandness of traditional hotels and condos. We will be visiting again.
What an awesome place. Private boat ramp, boat docks, fish cleaning table and private beach. The host, Lani, was the best we have encountered in years of staying on the Texas coast. Will be back as often as possible.
Wonderful experience! Quiet beach, clean comfy rooms (medium firm bed) with private bathroom, and two kitchens and living spaces. Relaxing patios, too. One faces the ocean. Just left and miss it already.
Getting married at The Brass Turtle Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
