We booked the Main House and 3 Mini Houses for our wedding weekend in October 2023 and had the best time. The wedding reception was at MudHen, so it was a no brainer to have some of our guests stay here.
Had my wedding at MudHen Brewing Co so naturally I needed to stay at The Hen Houses! And I’m so glad I did! Iona is just so wonderful and accommodating! We all got ready at the house and it was a quick easy drive over to MudHen. The house was a great size for all of us to get ready in!
The Hen Houses is an amazing space for retreats! As a wellness coach and yoga studio owner, this unique environment is the perfect destination. They handle everything so professionally and the grounds are impeccable! The themed rooms have so much personality and energy, really inspiring!
We stayed in Wildwood over a June weekend to support a family member at a triathlon in Cape May. The Hen Houses were a perfect spot for our family to stay. Very new, perfectly clean. For reference, we’re a family of five, and stayed in the Sea Tiger. Plenty of room for us.
Getting married at The Hen Houses
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
