We were privileged to have a room on the ocean .. views all day, plus the amazing moon rises from the ocean at night. Waldo's (right next to hotel) has always been our "go to" when we lived there.
Quaint resort on the ocean. Quirky rooms that are very livable. Attached restaurant/bar which is pretty good. Watch a US Navy ship heading south presumably to Venezuela.
The Driftwood Resort is easily one of the most unique and historic spots in Vero Beach. You can’t beat the location right on the ocean, and the rustic, "driftwood" architecture gives it a character that you won't find at any modern hotel. It’s a great place to walk around and soak in the old Florida vibes.
Absolutely loved our stay at this quirky local hotel with unique Waldo Sexton decor throughout the property. Right on the beachfront with live music, a fun restaurant and laid back vibes. Clean, comfortable and convenient to everything on Ocean Drive.
Getting married at The Historic Driftwood Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
