My husband and I got married here over the weekend, we had an amazing time and we were treated so well. However, there were things in our room that were broken, our floor was black and we paid for items we never received.
We had an incredible elopement at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake and would highly recommend the experience to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and low-key wedding day in a stunning setting. The property is gorgeous with incredible views. Our carriage house suite was roomy and comfortable with a fantastic bathtub.
My husband and I had a beautiful elopement ceremony at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. The food was incredible, the staff was attentive and deeply caring, and the lodge was absolutely gorgeous. We arrived Sunday and had our small, intimate ceremony with our immediate family on Monday.
Rooms were very clean, nice setup. The grounds were beautiful, nice views and a great place to relax. Food was great as well. The rooms were a little pricey for the area, that’s really my only minor nuance to share. We had a fantastic stay. I was very happy to see that the innkeeper had guest safety top of mind.
Getting married at The Lodge at Moosehead Lake
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
