From the reviews
We just had the most 2 amazing days with my wife and my 15 year old son ! I have been staying at the Moorings for 25 years. I took my wife for our first date there 17 years ago. We watched the sunset and had dinner at the Pierre.
The road leading through this place is public access to the beach and The Moorings have very deceptively posted private property warning no trespassing signs at the palm trees at the end of the road that goes into public beach access.
This place is gorgeous and absolutely one of the best places ever for total peace and quiet. You will fall in love with the beautiful beach, pool, ghost orchids growing from the trees and the accommodations. An absolute perfect place for a honeymoon.
Absolutely amazing experience! Secluded, relaxing and a tropical paradise. Watched the sunrise in the mornings and walked the private beach. It's such a private oasis. The cottages are so gorgeous and spacious. It was perfect. The staff was always accommodating as well. It's a must do!!
Getting married at The Moorings Village
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
