The Peaceful Pelican is the best place to stay in Palacios, Texas. Theresa and Paula had cared for us so well on our previous visits, that we had decided to stay there when we tied the knot last weekend! Theresa is so sweet, she makes a delicious, beautifully presented - complete breakfast.
Just wonderful all around! We were treated like family, with all of the joy and none of the sorrow. The peace was palpable. Paula, Theresa and staff were so kind and accommodating. Their cuisine is gourmet delicious. The view is spectacular.

We had a great stay at this beautiful home. The host was very welcoming and the home was very clean. The host was very accommodating for our family. The house was a gorgeous antique home with lots of history and a relaxing waterfront view from the front porch. Lovely and interesting art all around the house.
Getting married at The Peaceful Pelican
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
