We attended a wedding here this weekend. It was really pretty. The only downside is that it is freezing! The fire was finally able to be started at 7pm. That helped a lot.
I am here often for events. The space is amazing. It is my understanding that the space was to be renovated but the cost would be exorbitant. I will say that is is very cold in The Ruins and the only heat is the fireplace. Proximity to Ft. George allowed for shared space in the Lovell Showroom.
Wonderful and atmospheric venue for an event with an historical backdrop. A space you can accent in different directions to express your vibe.

First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge.
