We really enjoyed our stay at Tides. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I really appreciate the convenience of the Pinky’s bar and restaurant in the lobby as well. The pool area had a lot of area to sit and they also give you beach chairs if you request them.
Highly recommend staying here ! The staff is awesome! Rooms are nice and clean! Bed and pillows are comfy! And the view is breathtaking! Hands down the best hotel experience I've ever had. And they serve Starbucks coffee that's better than Starbucks!
If you are visiting Folly Beach, for all levels of convience, this is the place to be. The hotel is an older hotel and is showing it's age a bit in the rooms, it looks like the lobby has been updated and is very nice. On the balcony the A/C cover was partially off and bent.
Over all Stay was pretty good! Regarding the staff, they could be a little more personable and a little quicker in response to your request. Secondly the staff needs to be more one on one with the guessed. Finally the facility need some more updates. There must be 2 elevators working at all times.

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
