Our anniversary getaway at The Boathouse on Vanderkamp Lake was nothing short of absolutely blissful. The house is as lovely on the inside as it is out. Cozy and beautiful with all of the essentials and an amazing shower! The house, property and lake are all so peaceful and serene.
We had a fantastic stay in the restored boat house. We are amazed to see all the renovations that have happened since the new ownership group took over. We ate wild blueberries, canoed on the lake, saw several different species of butterfly and dozens of amazing native plants.
I’ve been here twice now and I’ve enjoyed my stay each time. The rooms are large and appointed well. The scenery and the details in the work they’ve done on the cabins make the experience feel like a luxurious getaway.
My husband and I had our 2nd stay at Langston Cottage as a birthday getaway for him. We used to go to Vanderkamp when it was still a summer camp so it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
