From the reviews
We have been driving by The Vineyard Harbor motel for years and always wondered how it was. We always stay with family when we come up here who live here year round. But we just wanted to try something different. The first time we tried the vineyard Harbor it was excellent and we use it ever since several times a year.
Good morning. I thoroughly enjoyed myself even though I was solo. The Harbor Motel was great for me. I will definitely stay there on my next visit. Free bus accessibility was perfect.
Fantastic location and staff. Room was very spacious and a bit on the rustic side which was great for our family. The onsite parking lot is pretty tight but there is another lot about a block away - this would be worth asking about before you arrive in case the small lot is full.
Great spot on the Vineyard. Only a 5 min walk from the Vineyard Haven ferry. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Private beach has a nice view of the harbor and is great to sit and relax in. Great value, you can spend a lot more and get a lot less in other locations on the island.
Getting married at Vineyard Harbor Motel - Private Beach
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
