We have been coming to this wonderful place every fall for the last 10 years. Gordon and Martha are wonderful hosts that put their heart and soul into keeping this little get-away spot in excellent shape. We always stay for 3-4 days in the peak of the salmon run that comes up the river.
Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature and the soothing sounds of birds singing. The room felt cozy and welcoming, just like home. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged.

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful bay view. Comfy beds, peaceful, and quiet. You can see how much pride in ownership Martha and Gordon have with all the little touches that you won’t find in a corporate owned business. And Peet’s in the room for my morning cup-a-joe was an added surprise.
Getting married at Wheeler on the Bay Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
