US Cities With the Fewest Beach Wedding Venues (2026)

The flip side of the beach wedding capitals: big American cities with barely a beach venue inside the city limits. These are the 30 most populous US cities (100,000+ residents) with zero or one beach venue in our 4,207-venue national directory — 27.8 million people between them. In this niche that's expected — beach venues live on the coast — but it tells you exactly which metros' couples are driving the farthest for their day. Updated 2026-07-24.

The list

Top of the table: Los Angeles, California — 3,878,704 people, no beach venue inside city limits. The biggest city with none at all is Los Angeles, California (3,878,704 residents — 29 of the 30 cities are at zero). If you live in one of these cities, your beach wedding is a drive into the surrounding countryside — start from your state page and look at the small towns ringing the metro.

Read it fairly: counts are within city limits, and beach venues are rural by nature. A zero here doesn't mean the metro has no beach weddings — it means every one of them happens in the small towns outside the line.

Methodology: venue counts from our continuously maintained national directory of 4,207 beach wedding venues (public business listings, filtered to genuine wedding-capable venues). City universe = incorporated places and consolidated city-governments with 100,000+ residents, US Census 2024 estimates; census names normalized to everyday names (Nashville-Davidson → Nashville) so no city is falsely flagged. Venues are matched to cities by the city name on their address. Refreshed with each re-crawl — cities graduate off this list when a venue opens. Browse what nearby markets look like instead: venues by state, or the full stats hub.
