From the reviews
It's not just Alki Beach itself that's a gem, it's the drive to and from there via Alki Beach Drive (or whatever it's called 😄) from the West Seattle Bridge. You'll pass restaurants, walking paths, view of the water the whole way, the ferries and SCUBA divers and paddlers and swimmers enjoying the water.
Alki Beach is such a lovely spot along the water with great views, easy walking, and plenty of fun activities abound. Of course this changes just slightly in the winter as the temperatures drop but that did not dissuade the Polar Plunge Club from gathering in February to brave the waters for a good cause!
Wonderful fun times in the summer, running paths, fire pits, sand.. but it gets super crowded in the summer, be sure to get there very early in the day if you are trying to reserve a fire pit, or prime beach space. Also lots of cops looking to issue tickets for drinking, fires past a certain hour, parking tickets...
Lots of beach space, activities and places to eat/drink across the street. It's very crowded later in the day as people drive in from other areas.
Getting married at Alki Beach Park Bathhouse Lawn Outdoor Event Space
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
