really wanted to book a self-care getaway and was so enamored with the property and its location, convenience, and also cleanliness. The staff was very accommodating and so much so I extended another night because the weather was also really beautiful.
Great stay! The room updates are very nice. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The valet service was wonderful, very considerate of families with kids, making sure cars were located closely for us to have access to our beach stuff without having to lug it up to our rooms etc. We ended up extending our stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the Ashworth! Definitely a place to stay, recommend beach balcony if available! Room was clean and beautifully decorated, just a little noisy next to ice machine and doors swelled so hard to open/shut, but view was well worth it, wow!
Excellent location to beach and restaurants. A great base for travel into Portsmouth and Southern Maine . Hotel is newly remodeled. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This will Be a stay in the future when coming back to New England.
Getting married at Ashworth by the Sea
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
